Will You Help Support STCS?

At Southern Tier Catholic School, we prepare students to live meaningful, faith-filled lives of leadership and service.

To continue this tradition, the school has moved to the former St. John’s Parish School Building on N. Union St. in Olean. This move has allowed us to renew the Catholic Faith in the classroom, refresh our academic rigor and restore the school’s financial sustainability.

But… we need you as a partner to keep this going. As you many know, the Buffalo Diocese has entered into bankruptcy and is no longer sending any money to the school, thus STCS now survives solely on tuition, fundraisers and donations from generous people like you. … We have to keep our school alive… so it can continue to transform students’ lives.

Bishop Mike Joined us to celebrate Mass and Bless Our School.

Following his visit last month, to STCS Bishop Fisher wrote a pastoral letter entitled, “Fulfilling our Discipleship Through a Renewed Commitment to Catholic Education,” where he encourages all of us to “come together and summon the full potential of the many gifts and capabilities available to develop new ideas, define new approaches and new solutions to ensure continued access to Catholic education.”

Dr. Taggerty Wins Olean’s Most Prestigious Award

Walsh/STCS President Colleen Taggerty, will receive the “L.O.U.I.E.” Award during the Greater Olean Area Chamber of Commerce Annual Dinner on Nov. 2.

We are thankful that Colleen is our school leader, and our students are lucky to have her, to look to as an example of how to put their faith into action.

STCS Students Participate in Many Special Events:

STCS students have already had the opportunity this school year to participate in many unique learning opportunities including:

Blessing of Pets on St. Francis’ Feast Day, a visit to the Olean Fire Station as well as a school wide field trip to Pumpkinville scheduled later today!
