Walsh/STCS dedicates themselves to maintaining a caring and enriching learning environment. Our goal is to help students thrive personally, emotionally, and academically. We prioritize the social-emotional well-being of our students, and regularly conduct staff professional development for social emotional learning (SEL) to enhance the quality of our students’ relationships with others.
This Walsh service has become increasingly important during COVID-19 and its effects concerning social isolation, economic issues, and changing schedules.
Our counselors work in tandem with board of trustees, parents, teachers, staff, and the administration to help identify academic-based and personal challenges that may prevent a student from achieving their personal best. Together with the student’s parents, they will help devise a practical solution so their child can thrive emotionally and educationally.
The Walsh counselors are either a Certified School Counselor with an MSEd in School Counseling or a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) with an MSEd in Clinical Mental Health Counseling.
For more information, our Social Emotional Learning (SEL) plan is available upon request.
