Happy Easter, from the Archbishop Walsh/Southern Tier Catholic School family. Christ is risen! He’s the reason we’re all here – learning, worshiping and serving the community as we do. As a private Catholic school, of course, we honor our faith tradition year-round. But Easter holds special meaning as we reflect on the Lord’s sacrifice to save all humankind.
At Walsh/STCS, we celebrate Easter in many ways. Our campus is decorated with vibrant, holiday-themed artwork – especially some super cute ones by the younger kids – reminding us of this joyous time of year. It’s the spirit of the holiday as well as the spring season: new life, new hope and devoted love for our Creator.
Celebrating Easter & Faith-Led Learning at Walsh/STCS
Our small, close-knit school community comes together to participate in a variety of activities. These may include prayer, celebrating Mass, and taking part in other religious discussion about the life, teachings, miracles, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
‘He is not here; he has been raised!’ – Luke 24:6-7
The true meaning behind the crucifixion and resurrection is the basis of the Catholic faith. Archbishop Walsh Academy/Southern Tier Catholic School joins billions of Christians around the world in recognizing these truths. Easter is a time of reflection, renewal and hope for our school.
For our students, Easter is an opportunity to learn about the significance of this holiday and its meaning in the Catholic faith. Our teachers incorporate Easter-themed lessons into their curriculum, helping students understand the history and traditions of the holiday. Spirituality is a journey, so age-appropriate lessons are key. While first-graders learn through faith-related art projects, middle- and high-schoolers may open their minds to more in-depth historical and theological perspectives.
As we celebrate the true meaning of Easter, we also take time to reflect on the importance of faith and love in our lives. We are reminded of the sacrifice made by Jesus Christ and the gift of redemption that comes with His resurrection. This is a time to renew our commitment to these values and to share them with those around us.
At Walsh/STCS, we cherish the opportunity to celebrate Easter with our students, families and staff. We wish everyone a blessed Easter and hope that this holiday brings joy and peace to all.
