STCS Ranks 3rd: Recognized in both English and Math
Southern Tier Catholic School is pleased to announce that Buffalo Business First announced the elementary school rankings of 278 public and private elementary schools in the eight counties of Western New York, based on four years of test data from the New York State Education Department and once again, Southern Tier Catholic School was rated towards the top of the rankings - placing 3rd amongst all elementary schools. More impressive is the five-year run of Southern Tier Catholic School in the rankings - always as a top 10% school within all of Western New York: 15 (2008) to 4 (2009) to 1 (2010 & 2011) and 3 (2012).
Within the Business First data, schools are listed with a percentile representing the percentage of other schools that it outranks academically, as well as subject ranks in English and math, based on a separate four-year analysis of test scores in those fields. STCS had a percentile of 99.3% and placed 3rd in English and 8th in math. Because of this performance and consistency of excellence over four-years within the two subject areas, the school was specifically recognized as both an English and math subject award winner - one of only 14 elementary schools throughout Western New York to receive both awards, and the only school in Cattaraugus and Allegany counties to receive this recognition. This distinction designates that STCS is in the top 10% for both English and math subject areas.
STCS is proud to once again be recognized as a top-tier school throughout the entire Western New York region. The school specifically acknowledges and applauds the hard work and dedication of the faculty and staff, all of whom inspire our students daily and remain committed to achieving academic excellence.
